Beach clean up success

On Oct 25th we had our first public event! We teamed up with CO-Exist Perth to clean up Floreat beach. 

The weather was not ideal, as soon as we got in the car to get there it started to rain. We had hope that some people would still show despite the rain and freezing wind. To our delight they did! 

Over 10kg of rubbish was collected including lots of mesoplastics and macrolastics which might not weigh much but are a huge problem on our beaches. 

One of our aims is to connect the community to conservation. To create an environment were making a difference to conservation is easy and achievable. Events like beach cleans do exactly that, they have a huge direct impact on the marine habitat and get like minded people together. 

When like minded people come together amazing things can happen.
